The body of paleontological research regarding the unicorn is small, but significant. Perhaps surprisingly, the efforts to reconstruct a fossilized skeleton have led to insights into the behavior of higher-order species. Let us celebrate National Fossil Day (Wed. Oct. 11) and the fossilized unicorn’s contribution to furthering man’s understanding of nature.
