Program Title: Why should we try for Welcoming Congregation recognition from the UUA? A Panel Discussion

Description: Society at large and especially religious spaces haven't always been a welcoming place for those on the sexuality and gender spectrums.  As UUs we are called to affirm the inherent worth and dignity of every person and this includes individuals in the LGBTQ+ population.  Each of us has worth and that includes those on the gender and sexuality spectrum. How can our congregation be as inclusive as possible to affirm and welcome the LGBGTQ+ population of the Black Hills area to our space? This Sunday the Welcome Subcommittee will be talking about their work of looking as ways to make our congregation as welcoming and affirming a space as possible for the Black Hills LGBTQ+ community, and how this will help us gain UUA recognition as an LGBTQ+ Welcoming Congregation and steps to achieve that.
